Travel is my passion! But my favorite journey has been for almost 10 years now in the land of dyslexia. Teaching kids and managing early childhood centers for almost 20 years allowed me to have a rich depth of knowledge when I founded NOCO Dyslexia Center. Some of the skills I have gained are the following:

  • Researched the topic of dyslexic shame and how to remediate those effects for my master's thesis

  • Met with and learned from neuroscientists at Harvard

  • Was hired as a subject matter expert to develop phonemic awareness activities in the virtual reality environment (VR) for a Department of Education grant

  • Monitored interventions with over 300 students

  • Assessed over 500 students

  • Trained over 50 staff

  • Taught a dyslexia class at a local college

  • Presented to different community groups

  • Acted as an advisor for a new charter school opening in town

  • Worked on an initiative to tutor dyslexic individuals at the county jail
